D.J. Fluker

Offensive Tackle – Alabama

6’6″ 335lbs

Projection: Late 1st-Mid 2nd

Strengths

-Bulldozer in the run game

-Elite size for man blocking schemes

-Long arms

-Very Physical

-Battle tested in the SEC against elite edge defenders

-Mean Streak

Weaknesses

-Slow feet in pass protection

-At times struggles with speed rushers

-Strictly a prospect for man schemes in NFL

-Could be forced to switch to guard

Summary

When the season started, D.J. Fluker was heralded as one of the next “can’t miss” offensive line prospects. He helped pave the way for Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and in 2012, Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon. As the season progressed, Fluker was exposed with having slow feet and struggling in pass protection against elite speed rushers. His lack of ability in the pass game may force him to move inside to guard where he would be a better fit due to his incredible run blocking ability.
